Maddox King or Mal-El, also known as Malek Raatko (Arabic: مالك رعتكو‎) or Malek al Ghul (Arabic: مالك الغول), is born Alexander Gregory Quentin Queen-Lance, is the biological son of Oliver Queen and Laurel Lance, adoptive son of Malcolm Merlyn, divine son through blessing of Zeus, adoptive son of Amara Kor-El, foster son of Ra's al Ghul, adoptive brother of Laira and Ashton King/Alexander Queen (who serves him as decoy to hide his true identity), foster brother of Talia al Ghul, Nyssa al Ghul, adoptive brother/nephew of Thea Queen, adoptive brother of Tommy Merlyn, and godson/nephew of  Sara Lance. He is the lover of Saracon, the ex-fiancé of Lena Luthor and the ex-boyfriend of Josh Grayson. As Member of the League of Assassins, he has earning the titles Jawhar al Ghul (جوهر الغول, Arabic for The Essence of the Demon or The Heart of the Demon) and Warith al Ghul (وريث الغول, Arabic for Heir to the Demon). He further earned the title Ibn al Ghul (ابن الغول, Arabic for Son of the Demon) when Ra's accepted in the league and adopted him. During a "friendly" duel, Maddox defeated Ra's but chose to not kill him, for Ra's he has inherited the title of Ra's al Ghul (Arabic: رأس الغول‎ Raʾs al-Ġūl; Demon's Head), that is also the reason why he released him because two Demon's Head can be stay in the League of Assassins, before he left Ra's al Ghul gave him a Demon Head ring that he made himself. He had several counterpart of himself in Multiverse.

Biography

Early life

Maddox is an "accidental" child of Oliver Queen and Laurel Lance conceived when they had only twelve. After that laurel has decided to not aborted but to adopted the baby, is followed by numerous vicissitudes for this child, he first lived for a few weeks with Malcolm and Tommy Merlyn, before being adopted by a family Central City and being forsaken and find by newly arrived from a parallel universe, when she wanted to leave Krypton in full destruction, Amara Kor-El, twin sister of Astra and Alura Zor-El. Early in his life, Maddox has moved much, from his four years to his ten years he lived in Nanda Parbat, with his mother Amara and his foster father Ra's al Ghul, and his daughter Nyssa, with whom he kept close ties even after leaving. At ten yen years old,he moved back with his mother to Central City, they lived in the house next to the West House, where Joe and Iris West, and his future best friend Barry Allen lived. This two families became very close, parents and children uniting with each other very fraternal links. So much so that Joe nicknamed Amara, "his white sister".

The Accident

Maddox was in Central City, in a restaurant whith his mother near the particle accelerator when he exploded. At the time of irradiation, he put himself forward to protect his brother Ashton and his sister Laira, protecting them from the major part of the radiation of the wave of black energy. Nevertheless the physical contact between Maddox and Ashton, and Maddox and Laira had the effect of causing a replication of the meta-genetics which was operated at that time. For Laira, she was right, the power she received were exactly the same as his brother Maddox, a few details closely. For Asthon, the Martian stone bracelet worn by Maddox on his left hand, which was in contact with Ashton, had the effect of giving him exactly the same powers as a Green Martian and some Kryptonian powers. He had been touched and get away by the dark matter wave, when he wake up at hospital seven days after, a doctor came to tell him that they found his mother's body under the rubble of a building that had collapsed during the explosion.

Maddox has a complex personality from his life, his family, his meetings. Maddox is an honest man, loyal, patient, thoughtful, unselfish but againt his opponents he can have a cold and stoic demeanor, be ruthless. Trained by his foster father Ra's, Maddox can be an astute and calculating man, Maddox was an effective leader. Maddox can be very stubborn, and doesn't like to admit when he's wrong. Maddox possesses a grey moral. His moral center was changed after what happened to Laurel and he learnt one and only virtue; survive no matter the cost. Maddox can be extremely arrogant and proud in particular of his title. This trait could be particularly developed before becoming Ra's al Ghul, ironically after he became, this trait of his personality has completely disappeared.

Powers and Abilities

  • Meta-human physiology:After Maddox was struck by the energy of the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion, his DNA and cells were altered in three ways, turned him into Kryptonian, by metabolizing the blood of Amara and Kor El, in his own DNA, allow him to access dimensional energy and give him sonic powers.
    • Solar energy absorption: While Maddox's powers are dependent on the energy spectrum from a blue or yellow sun, the stored up energy allows him to use his powers without constant exposure to the solar radiation until finally depleted. Yet, as his body is near-constantly exposed to such energy and able to passively absorb it, this essentially keeps his reserves fully charged near-constantly. Direct exposure to sunlight will also accelerate his recovery from any injuries he does manage to sustain. He is able to absorb such energy much quicker and in higher reserves compared to normal Kryptonians
      • Accelerated healing factor: Maddox's solar charged metabolism accelerates his healing and allows him to burn calories at a fast rate, making him resilient to weight gain. Upon being struck by a Green Kryptonite beam and a series of punches by a cyborg, after few minutes he healed instantly.
      • Self-sustenance: Due to the effects of a blue or yellow sun, Maddox's physical needs are greatly reduced or completely removed, as he does not need to breathe, as Maddox can travel through outer space without the need for air; it is unknown when he obtained his ability, however, he has been on Earth for at least 34 years, an ability that his cousin, Kara has not yet obtained, as he has been exposed to the effects of the earth's yellow sun, longer than the latter.
        • Contaminant immunity: Maddox has an immunity to all forms of disease and contaminants on Earth. However, despite being unable to being inebriated or intoxicated by drugs or alcohol from Earth, he does not drink and has a strong dislike for alcohol.
      • Flight: Maddox is able to manipulate his own gravitational field to generate thrust and propel himself through the air at tremendous supersonic-speeds, much faster than he can travel by foot. As such, he is able to levitate and fly past Earth's atmosphere and near the planet's orbit.
        • Super leaping: Maddox is able to jump several stories in a single bound without having to fly. He is known to be ableable to "leap tall buildings in a single bound", and usually, when he has to fly, he jump upwards before shooting skyward.
      • Heat vision: By concentrating every solar energy reserve he has in his body, Maddox can emit blue energy beams of variable intensity from his eyes. Due to his control over the beams, he has demonstrated being capable of burning though stone and welding metal, causing small explosions and fires, and physically repelling enemies with similar durability, making it useful in combat. However, he has personally utilized it for more mundane uses, such as heating up beverages and cooking food.
      • Invulnerability: Maddox is essentially invulnerable to all Earthly weapons, with bullets simply ricocheting whenever they come in to contact with his skin. His durability has proven to be even greater than that of his cousins, Kal and Kara's. This is probably due to the fact that he has spent more time under the Earth's yellow sun than Karaand even Kal has. He is immune to most forms of extreme punishment, and is able to take far more damage than any normal human.
      • Longevity: Maddox, due to being an Olympian God/Kryptonian, has lived for millennia without visibly aging, with his being roughly 30,000 years old (having been born in 1995 but time travel to past, in the First Invasion of Earth, in 28,885 BC), and having been present in "Man's World" since, making him an ageless immortal.
      • Super breath: Maddox is able to exhale powerful gusts of air from his mouth. He can also cause the temperature of his breath to drop to sub-zero levels, therefore able to freeze nearly anything instantly.
      • Super hearing: Maddox has super-sensitive ears that can perfectly pick up sounds from miles away and even through structures.
      • Super speed: Maddox possesses the ability to move at incredible supersonic speeds, far greater than that of any normal human, essentially making him "faster than a speeding bullet". He commonly uses his speed to appear and disappear faster than people can notice,
        • Super Reflexes: Maddox's speed extends to his reflexes as well, even if he is not moving at superspeed, as when a soldier fired his gun past him, the bullet appeared to be moving in slow motion from his perspective.
      • Super strength: Maddox has incredible superhuman strength, of the same level of Superman or Ares. Hence, even before reaching his full potential, he far surpassed the strength of any Amazon or Kryptonian, he effortlessly flung a man across a room (with a single swing), effortlessly broke apart a gun. After finally reaching his full potential as Maddox, he became considerably stronger, with his overpowering and killing beings from "other worlds".' Maddox is shown to exhibit enormous feats of strength. Despite his strength, Maddox still must physically exert himself when fighting other super powered beings of similar levels of strength and durability, such as other empowered Kryptonians, as well as to lift or press objects or structures that are larger than himself, such a planes or ships.
      • Telepathy immunity: Maddox is immune to all forms of telepathy; even from someone as powerful as J'onn J'onzz.
      • X-ray vision: Maddox is able to see through solid objects; except for lead.
    • Dimensional energy manipulation: After Maddox was struck by the energy of the Particle Accelerator explosion, this altered his DNA and physiology on three ways, one of this ways allow him to access dimensional energy. Maddox has a psychic link to the natural energies of reality, allowing him to connect with various vibrations of the multiverse and manipulate them for various effects.
      • Dimensional awareness: Known as "vibing", Maddox can perceive various events throughout time and space, letting him see into the past and future as well as parallel dimensions, even into the very Speed Force itself.
      • Dimensional travel: With his natural connection to the multiverse, Maddox can open portals to other dimensions. Being a noticeably more advanced ability, Maddox is shown to need focus and a proper awareness of his intended target. This required Harrison Wells to first calibrate Maddox's visors to lock onto the right electromagnetic frequencies that are located on the said dimensional plane. On a lesser level, he can make portals to teleport people to different locations in the same universe. Jumping through these portals himself appears to be more stressful on his body as he is dividing his focus between two actions.
      • Vibrational blasts: Maddox is able to generate powerful concussive blasts of vibrations from his hands capable of propelling full-grown humans through the air.
      • Mental connection: As stated to Maddox by both Cisco and Gypsy, "vibers" are connected by their powers and are able to observe each other if they're skilled enough.
    • Sonic scream: Like Purity, Maddox can vocally emit a focused, high frequency sonic scream that is powerful enough to knock a fully grown Kryptonain feet away into a wall. He was also able to knock Supergirl unconscious with his scream; after analysis done by Winn, he confirms that Maddox emits a specific sound frequency intended to be particularly harmful to (presumably normal) Kryptonians. His scream can also be used as a force projectile, as he was able to break down a whole train station just by screaming at it.
      • Sonic inducement/Sound projection: With a slight clench of his hands, Maddox, is able to induce vertigo, vibration, and a sonic sound in his immediate vicinity, extending outwards omni-directionally in an expanding sphere-like fashion from where he was. He was able to shake and vibrate the whole D.E.O. facility, and cause anyone near him to feel the effects of a migraine, and have ringing in their ears. The effects of the ability even allow him to stun, explode, and push back multiple objects at once, and even stun normal humans.
  • Divine Empowerment: When he had decided to fight into the first Invasion of Earth, Zeus decided to bless and made him his"divine son", so he was gifted with various powers by the King of the Gods of Olympus. Zeus enhanced too his meta-human powers, particularly his kryptonian part, his strength, speed, reflexes, durability, etc...
    • Bracelet Energy Generation: Maddox, by clashing his Bracelets of Submission together, can release a huge spherical blast of orange energy, with it being powerful enough to send flying the mighty god Ares. At full power, Maddox could generate these shock-waves from his body, notably to destroy the restrains Ares put him in, as well as shielding himself with it, as the debris Ares sent flying at his disintegrated against the invisible field as he built up his attack.
    • Divine Electrokinesis: Maddox, as the human being demigod son of Zeus, through his blessing, has some degree of power over divine lightning, as he deflected, caught, and contained the humongous lightning bolts of Ares onto his Bracelets of Submission, and redirected the tremendous divine torrents right back at the God of War, seemingly killing him.
      • Atmokinesis Maddox is able to control the weather and all of its forms with ease. He can control meteorological tempests, such as lightning, thunder Maddoxs, hurricanes, blizzards, tornadoes, mist, and typhoons. He can even siphon electricity, causing him to shoot it out as lightning of any intensity.
        • Atmospheric Resistance: Maddox is immune to extreme weather conditions like extreme heat or cold, Maddoxs and is capable creating a small atmosphere around him, thus this allows him possibly survive in areas where there is a lack of oxygen such as areas of high altitudes.
        • Earth Link: - Maddox is psychically linked to his immediate surroundings. He can detect if a nearby animal or plant has died or if the weather is about change.
        • Energy Perception: Maddox can perceive an amount of energy.
        • Enhanced Senses: When Maddox's eyes go white, he can see his surroundings in the form of energy. He uses this ability to see through harsh weather conditions like fog, darkness or clouds. He can also see the neuro-electric networks inside living organisms and use this to counter or anticipate their attacks, however, opponents with super speed like Reverse Flash prove to be more challenging.
      • Teleportation: Maddox is capable of teleportating through lightning.
      • Lightning Vision: By concentrating his Divine Electrokinesis, Maddox can emit lightnong beams of variable intensity from his eyes. It's variation derived from his Divine Electrokinesis and his Heat Vision.
      • Lightning Breath: By concentrating his Divine Electrokinesis, Maddox can exhale lightnong beams of variable intensity from his mouth. It's variation derived from his Divine Electrokinesis and his Super breath.
    • Amokinesis: Maddox can use his great innate capacity for love as an offensive weapon, though only if he concentrates on and believes in it intensely enough. Hence, a tangible aura of love serves to protect Maddox from Ares' telekineticaly hurled projectiles near the end of their battle.
    • Omnilingualism: Maddox, has the ability to fluently speak, read, and understand all human languages (even currently dead ones), as well as to instinctively identify a language's name when seeing it's written form. Maddox has so far been known to speak or read English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Sumerian, Ancient Greek, Latin, and Ottoman Turkish.

  • Genius-level intellect/Great business acumen/Master tactician: In the shadows, Maddox is the major shareholder of Prince Worldwide, overseeing its success as a multibillion-dollar corporation. Malcolm has proven himself to be remarkably clever when it comes to devising plans and battle strategies, He even managed to use his journey into the past to his advantage by investing in companies, objects and people, who he knew what they would become in the future. For example it is the owner of a very large collection of priceless works of art that he has accumulated since he went back in time, that is to say from eight millenniums before Jesus Christ. He managed to hide who he really is and later devised a plan to deceive all about who he really is bi the introducing of a decoy Ashton King as "Alexander Queen", and so believe, to Oliver and Laurel, that another boy is their son. Maddox, is extremely intelligent, wise, well-read, perceptive, and sophisticated, primarily due to his tremendously long immortal lifespan, natural fluency in all human languages (even dead ones, like Latin, Ancient Greek, Sumerian, and Ottoman Turkish),
  • Indomitable will/High tolerance for pain: Maddox can ignore pain; once he poured hot water over his hand without flinching. Despite his high tolerance for pain, after he was captured by the Hidden, Maddox was badly tortured by 'Saracon, to the point that he was barely conscious afterwards.
  • League of Assassins training: Being trained by Ra's the leader of the League of Assassins, Maddox had the highest level of training any assassin could receive.
  • Master Combatant: Maddox, having been trained in combat tactics by Ra's al Ghul, Amara Kor-El and after his timejump to the past the goddess Antiope and Athena herself, is a tremendously skilled, fierce, and formidable hand-to-hand combatant a master of a vast array of uniquely martial arts, human and Amazonian, as well as an expert in most types of weapons with millennia of combat experience, with his claiming to have fought and defeated several beings from "other worlds" (which includes even the fearsome God of War Ares himself).
  • Master hand-to-hand combatant/Martial artist: Maddox was highly proficient and experienced in unarmed combat. He was able to instantly parry or dodge attacks using only a minimal of movement, his fighting style was very fluid and economic; this was reminiscent of Ra's training.
  • Master swordsman: Maddox was shown to be a master swordsman. He was able to easily defeat a group of assassins in a swordfight in mere minutes. He easily kept up against his opponents and caught them of guard with precise slashes before impaling them. The sword was Maddox weapon of choice as he always carries on with him.
  • Master archer: Maddox was shown to be a master archer, he was very proficient in archery. It can be assumed that Maddox was also proficient in the use of other weapons.
  • Master Lassoer: Maddox is extremely skilled at combatively wielding his unbreakable Lasso of Truth .
  • Expert Rider: Maddox, is a highly skilled horseback rider.
  • Occult knowledge: Maddox possessed some knowledge of magic and mysticism, as he fully understood, from his foster father Ra's, how the Lazarus Pit functions.
  • Expert Antiquities Dealer: Maddox, while in his guise as the human, is an extremely experienced genius antiquities dealer, with Maddox's tremendously long immortal life and natural fluency in all human languages allowing his to accumulate an immense amount of knowledge on the subject, though (being an Kryptonian with Olympian God heritage) he seems to specialize most in ancient Greco-Roman antiques. Hence, Maddox before works as Curator for the Department of Antiquities at National City Museum of Antiquities, he workesworks as Curator for the Department of Antiquities at the extremely prestigious British Museum in United Kingdom, and he is held in very high esteem by the curator of the Star City Museum of Antiquities, being swiftly able to tell that the museum's exhibit of Alexander the Great's sword was a fake, knowing exactly where the actual sword is, impressing Josh Grayson himself.
  • Expert Social Intuit: Maddox, as Maddox King, has a high degree of social confidence (having a millenias of experience living), allowing his to intuitively determine how to interact with others, gain their respect and get his point across with a calmness, eloquence, and charisma that sometimes belie his actual emotional state, though he is usually genuine. As a result, Maddox remains extremely well-respected at the British Museum, by fellow antique museum curators, and even the extremely experienced Josh Grayson is almost instantly intrigued by him.

  • Kryptonite: Like all Kryptonians, even while empowered, Maddox is vulnerable to the exposure of Kryptonite, a radioactive mineral from his home planet Krypton. Depending on the nature of the said Kryptonite, it will cause a different adverse affect on him;
    • Green Kryponite: Green Kryptonite not only physically hurts him and weakens his physical attributes, leaving him vulnerable to weapons and anything in general that can kill a normal human, but if he is exposed to it for too long, it will kill him. However, possibly due to a long life-time of constant exposure to yellow soar radiation, Maddox has demonstrated a certain level of resilience to green kryptonite. When directly exposed to it by John Corben, despite being physically weakened, he was still retained noticeable superhuman might and sent the cyborg flying several feet away; unlike his cousin Kara, who is always powerless when she is exposed to green kryptonite.
    • Red Kryptonite: If exposed to Red Kryptonite, it gradually destroys Maddox's inhibitions and turns him into a corrupt version of himself. Left without morality, compassion, rationality, or any cares whatsoever, Maddox will become malevolent and prone to hostility and aggression, making him a danger to everyone around him.
    • Silver Kryptonite: If exposed to Silver Kryptonite, it will cause him to go in a deep and frightful hallucination where nothing from the outside world can stir him out of it until it leaves his system. When Rhea poisoned Maddox with Silver Kryptonite, Maddox was convinced that Supergirl was actually his greatest enemy, General Zod, who constantly taunted him.
  • Extreme energy: Extreme amounts of energy, such as the energy from the Reactron suit, can be enough to kill Maddox.
  • Red sun energy: Like all Kryptonians, exposure to the Red Sun will make Maddox the equivalent of a human being on Earth.
  • Solar energy depletion: Using his powers to its maximum for an extended period can significantly drain his solar energy to the point where Maddox loses all of his powers and is rendered more human like for at least a day. This renders him as weak as a human, allowing Maddox to get injured and killed as easy as killing a human.
  • Lead: Maddox can not see through lead, even with his X-ray vision.
  • High-frequencies: Although considered a strength, Maddox's hearing does have its disadvantages. Since his hearing is more sensitive than a normal human's, higher pitch noises (sonic screams, etc.) can disorient him and cause pain in his ears, leaving him vulnerable in a fight. Therefore, enemies with sound based powers, like Silver Banchee can potentially be powerful enough to cause a Maddox's ears to bleed.
  • Sound-dampening technology: The D.E.O. designed frequencies to block super-hearing and cause Maddox slight pain when trying to use it in areas protected by the technology.
  • Gem of Fenrirawakens the deepest darkness of being and turns the person into the darkest version of himself
  • Instability: If he becomes corrupted by mystical obekct like the gem of Fenrir or emotionally unstable, he loses control of his powers and will turn into his darker persona known as Apocalypse.

    • Equipment

    • Maddox' wristwatch: The most important thing about this wristwatch is not what it shows, but what the Wristwatch hides. The watch hides two things, first, the wedding bracelet of Amara and Kor, and his forced tattoo, his Nazi Camp number I.D., which he wants to keep in order never to forget.
    • Bracelets of Submission: He wear every time, his two Bracelets of Submission, who in their civilian aspect take the form of two rings that he wears on each of these indexes.

  • Sovereign suit: a protective suit that Maddox King wears as the superhero, Sovereign. Before the revelation of his Kryptonian "origins", his costume wore a lightning flash on his chest, as soon as the secret was revealed, he replaced the lightning with the symbol of the house of El.

  • League of Assassins suit: Malek wears a protective suit of black robes, unique from the usual garb worn by League assassins. It is unknown what materials it is made out of, with the exception of Kevlar.
  • Customized PSE Chaos AD Compound Bow: Malek wield a personal compound bow.
  • Customized Hunting Arrows: Malek carried a number of black arrows with him at all times. These arrows feature a black fletching and tip.
  • Quiver: Malek wore a black quiver to keep arrows on his back at all times.
  • Katana: Malek can proficiently wield a pair of katana.
